Hot Cakes, Pearls and Gumpaste.

Hot because it was 105 degrees here today, which isn't good for buttercream, and slightly humid, which isn't good for gumpaste. Luckily, both cakes were for indoor receptions.

The blue one had gumpaste hydrangeas, and the square one had gumpaste roses and sunflowers. Both cakes had a lot of fondant pearls, so that was the theme of the week. The bottom tier of the blue one was actually a styrofoam dummy, which I did because the bride wanted a big cake but had a small guest list!
