How To Make A Number Cake Topper From Gumpaste

Someone on a certain cake forum that has many defective functions and won't let me post pictures asked how to make a number cake topper from gumpaste. I tried to describe it, but it's kind of difficult to get across without a diagram, so here it is.

I know that there are other ways to do this, but with numbers that have strange contours and don't have a straight "leg" to insert a wire into, I like doing it this way. It gives the entire number some support and if it breaks in half at some point the whole thing won't fall apart because the wire will hold it together.
