Orange Wrap Wedding Cake

I kind of like orange for wedding cakes if it's a nice shade...It's peppy and fresh, and it happens to be the Pantone color of the year, so I guess it's trendy now since "they" said it was, haha! (who is "they," anyway?)

I did some display cakes for an upcoming wedding show that's going to have a cake gallery, and I decided to include some orange in this one.

The wrap at the base of each tier is made from orange candy clay. It's pieced together, so it isn't just a flat ribbon, it has some texture and irregularity to it.

I stacked the tiers so that they're lined up vertically at the back of the cake, which gave some space at the front to arrange the flowers, and made the stacked look a little different.

The flowers were designed to look spring-y, since the theme of the show is "blooms." This cake was designed for Springtime, the others were for Winter and Autumn. (Sorry, Summer, it's too hot for cakes then!)

Such a beautiful spray of flowers! I like the way you have stacked the cakes to line up at the back to give the flowers 'room to breathe', I think it looks very stylish!
